What Is Mokshada Ekadashi?

Mokshada Ekadashi falls in Agrahayana month.

Mokshada Ekadashi is observed in Shukla Paksha of the Hindu month of Agrahayana. The day of Mokshada Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Krishna , when devotees perform Vrat (fasts) for the whole day.

This is the day, when Lord Sri Krishna spoke the Srimad Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, at the place now known as Jyotisha tirtha.

How to observe Mokshada Ekadashi fast, How to do puja on Mokshada Ekadashi?

The complete fast from sunrise on Mokshada Ekadashi to the dawn the next day is observed. People who cannot fast for that period observe a partial fast.

On this Holy day devotees worship and prayers to Vishnu. On this day, the avatar Krishna is also worshipped. Devotees properly observing the fast are believed to attain moksha after death

What Foods to be Taken

Only vegetarian food, especially fruits, vegetables, milk products and nuts, are consumed. Eating rice, beans, pulses, garlic, and onions is prohibited on this day.
